Remedial Training Courses
The course tutor is Howard Goslyn AIWSc FInstRTs MEWI who is a member of the Trainers and Examiners Committee of the BWPDA, Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) approved trainer and has written over 100 technical publications for use by contractors and specifiers in the construction Industry. He has spent many years researching and developing new environmentally friendly materials and new treatment methods for the control and eradication of timber and damp problems.
Surveyors Course
This course is designed to emphasise surveying rather than treatment and will be of interest to surveyors who wish to bring themselves up-to-date with industry requirements and legal aspects of their work. The course covers surveying procedures and diagnosis of all causes of dampness in buildings, attacks on timber by wood boring insects, fungi and dry rot, plus legal and health and safety responsibilities.
Technicians Course
This course is designed for all Installation Operatives/Technicians in the Remedial Damp and Timber Industry in understanding the causes of dampness and timber decay in buildings and to be able to carry out the treatments required, understanding the equipment and chemicals used and health and safety requirements.
Tanking Course
This course provides training on the appropriate choice and application procedures of cementitious and epoxy tanking systems, included are various MAPEI products related to tanking and floor coatings.
John Newton Tanking Membranes
A course that provides in depth training on the design and installation of products within the John Newton range, this includes all membranes and pumps along with ancillary items. The tanking courses tutor is Gordon Jackson CSRT, AInstRTC.
Course notes are provided and certificates are issued on completion of all courses.
