BIOKIL. Antisulphate – salt neutraliser for walls before rendering, plastering or tanking

BIOKIL. Antisulphate is a highly concentrated, water-based solution of magnesium hexafluorosilicate that turns soluble salts insoluble. Ground salts such as nitrates, sulphates and chlorides can damage renders, plasters and tanking systems – they are often found in high concentrations in groundwater, where coal was historically stored, and in the plaster and substrates of chimney breasts.

Key benefits

  • Makes soluble salts insoluble
  • Prevents further salt movement prior to rendering or tanking
  • Suitable for brickwork, blockwork, stonework and sand render; may also be brushed onto existing plaster surfaces to neutralise emerging salts
  • Essential pre-treatment before tanking and in the treatment of efflorescence

Application

  1. Remove existing white efflorescent salt deposits with a wire brush or similar.
  2. Apply a first coat of a 1:1 solution of Antisulphate and water by brush or spray. Allow to dry overnight.
  3. The following morning, apply a second coat of undiluted Antisulphate.
  4. Rendering or tanking can proceed immediately, but should not be delayed for more than 2 days.

Coverage & pack sizes

1 litre applied in 2 coats covers approximately 2m². Available in 5 litre, 10 litre and 25 litre containers. Shelf life up to 2 years when stored in original packaging in a cool, dry place and protected from frost.

Safety

Water based with a strong acidic character. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; wear protective clothing, goggles and gloves. In case of contact, wash off immediately with plenty of clean water. Read the product label and Material Safety Data Sheet before use.

How far does it go?
