BIOKIL. Dry Rot Paint – visible biocidal emulsion for masonry and nearby timber (5 litre, white)
A professional emulsion coating containing just over 1% w/w 3-iodo-2-propynyl-n-butyl carbamate, formulated as a visible surface masonry biocide for dry rot sterilisation treatments. Unlike standard surface biocides, it can also be applied to timbers close to an outbreak and to new timbers installed after treatment.
Key benefits
- Visible treatment – easy to see where it has been applied
- Fungicide for use on both masonry and timber
- Virtually no odour and non-flammable
- Ideal for concealed areas such as the backs of skirtings, architraves and window and door frames
- White as standard; can be tinted with proprietary emulsion colourants
Application
- Treat timbers near an outbreak first with Boracol 10 or BIOKIL. Woodzone Dual Purpose, then apply Dry Rot Paint once touch-dry.
- Smooth timber: one coat. Rough sawn or porous timber: two coats, the second as soon as the first is touch-dry.
- Coverage approx. 2–8m² per litre per coat depending on texture. Apply by brush or roller; clean tools with water.
Safety
Professional use only (HSE 7254). Causes eye and skin irritation – wear coveralls, rubber/PVC gloves and face protection. Cover water tanks and foodstuffs, keep people and animals away for 48 hours or until dry, and protect watercourses – extremely hazardous to aquatic life. Bats are protected: consult the relevant nature conservation body before treating structures used by bats. Do not allow to freeze; shelf life 12 months above 5°C.
