BIOKIL. BioDry ProFlow (Concentrate) – siliconate DPC injection fluid

A concentrated solution of potassium methyl siliconate which, diluted with water, forms a water-repellent damp-proof course. It is formulated for low-pressure injection into mortar beds – the main path for rising damp – making it a cost-effective way to install a chemical DPC in existing masonry.

Application in brief

1. Prepare: remove plaster to at least 1m (or 300mm above the highest signs of damp or salts), remove skirtings and fixing grounds, and rake out joints 10–15mm. Externally, cut render back above the DPC line and lower ground levels where possible.
2. Mix: always add ProFlow to water – 1 part ProFlow to 11.5 parts clean water by volume.
3. Drill: 10–14mm holes into the mortar bed (or angled through the brick into the bed) at no more than 170mm centres, at least 150mm above external ground level. Drill 115mm walls from one side; 225mm walls from both sides or in stages; treat each leaf of a cavity wall separately.
4. Inject at below 50 psi (5–50 psi direct into mortar beds) until the mortar beds are saturated. Plug holes with strong mortar or plastic plugs.

Coverage: approx. 2.5 litres of diluted fluid per metre of 230mm (9") wall.

Allow walls to dry as long as possible before re-plastering, and treat decorations as temporary for 9–12 months – use non-vinyl emulsion and avoid vinyl or woodchip papers. Wash spills off immediately with plenty of water. Alkaline – wear gloves and eye protection.
