AquaDry GaleForce – solvent-based masonry water repellent
A ready-to-use, solvent-based water repellent (poly-oxo aluminium stearate in white spirit) for treating above-ground exterior masonry against penetrating damp from rainfall. It protects while keeping the natural appearance of the surface.
Key benefits
- Protection for up to 10 years on standard clay brickwork; up to 7 years on roofs
- Penetrates between 4 and 6mm
- Lets the wall breathe while preventing rainwater penetration
- Helps keep walls dry, reducing heat loss, dirt build-up and efflorescent salts
- Helps prevent the growth of moss, algae and lichen
- No colour or reflectance change, and does not discolour over time
Suitable substrates
Concrete, roughcast, sandstone, brick, natural and synthetic stone and aerated concrete. Not for new or recently pointed masonry (too alkaline) – use AquaDry Masonry Protection Cream or StormForce instead.
Application
- Clean dirty surfaces with BIOKIL. Biocidal Cleanser 2–3 days beforehand (no detergents). The surface must be dry for at least 24 hours before, and no rain expected for 24 hours after.
- Apply by low-pressure, large-particle spray or brush, aiming for a 300mm run-down on surfaces of average porosity.
- Apply a second coat after 24 hours or more. Full water repellency once the resin cures, in approx. 24 hours.
Coverage: 3–5m² per litre per coat. Two coats for most surfaces; three for limestone. Available in 5L and 25L metal containers; shelf life up to 2 years.
Flammable (flash point 40°C). Can dissolve expanded polystyrene, some rubber, plastics and bitumen products. Protect windows, paintwork and plants.
