Sovereign DeepKill – Timber Preservation Cream (5L)
For professional use only.
Sovereign DeepKill is a deep-penetrating timber treatment cream that eradicates and protects against wood-boring insects, such as common furniture beetle and deathwatch beetle, and wood-destroying fungi, including dry rot (Serpula lacrymans) and wet rot. It can be used curatively where an attack is active, or as a preventative treatment against future outbreaks.
The cream penetrates the timber, carrying the active fungicides and insecticides deep below the surface. On application a skin forms that prevents the carrier solvent from evaporating, maximising uptake of the active ingredients. Once dry, the timber returns to its original colour and will accept paints and varnishes as normal; applied at the correct rate, no residue remains.
Key Features
- Eradicates and protects against fungi and wood-boring insects
- For softwoods and hardwoods, including floorboards, roof timbers and furniture
- Particularly useful for thick-sectioned timber such as floor joists and roof supports
- Non-drip; easy to apply by brush or roller
- Can be over-painted once dry
Application
- Timber must be clean and free from dirt and debris, with coatings such as paint and varnish removed.
- Apply by brush or roller to clean, dry, bare timber at 250ml per m², ensuring an even coverage.
- Coated timber can be treated by drilling 10mm diameter holes and filling them with DeepKill, at a rate of 30kg per m³. Ensure drilling does not affect the structural integrity of the timber.
- Take care to prevent contamination of adjacent plaster.
- Clean tools and equipment with soapy water or white spirit immediately after use.
