Dryzone® Damp-Proofing Cream – DPC injection cream
Dryzone is a high-strength, water-based silicone cream (silane/siloxane) for remedial rising damp treatment. It is injected into holes drilled along a mortar bed, where it spreads along the mortar before curing to form a damp-proof course. No electric DPC pump is needed – just a simple applicator gun – so it can be used where power isn't available, and most walls can be injected from one side only.
Key benefits
- Independently verified performance – certificate 97/3363
- Optimised for a wide range of mortars, including porous and low-alkalinity mortars typical of Victorian buildings
- Suitable for brick, stone and rubble-construction walls
- Easy, clean installation; non-hazardous to the environment
- Established in the market for 20 years
Application in brief
- Remove damaged, salt-contaminated plaster up to 1m above the DPC line, or 30cm above the highest visible damp line (per BS 6576).
- Drill 12mm holes into the mortar course at 120mm centres – about 150mm above ground when treating from outside. Hole depth: 95mm (115mm wall), 210mm (230mm), 325mm (345mm), 440mm (460mm).
- Inject cream to fill each hole while withdrawing the nozzle steadily. Minimum application temperature 5°C.
- Dryzone typically cures to form a DPC over about 1 month. Re-plaster with a suitable damp-resistant renovation plaster – never gypsum.
Coverage – 600ml foil packs per 10m of wall
115mm wall: 1½ · 230mm: 3½ · 345mm: 5 · 460mm: 7
Coverage – 310ml cartridges per 10m of wall
115mm wall: 3 · 230mm: 6½ · 345mm: 10 · 460mm: 13½
