BIOKIL. Geotextile Fabric – land drain protection

BIOKIL. Geotextile Fabric (Land Drain Protection Geotextile Fabric) is a component of the BIOKIL. Geotextile Membrane system. Where perforated or slotted land drainage pipes are installed, it is used to fully encapsulate the clean graded aggregate surrounding the pipework.

The fabric prevents fine particles from entering the drainage system, reducing the risk of silting and maintaining long-term water flow capacity.

Installation

Overlap the fabric and position it to integrate with the filter fabric face of the BIOKIL. Geotextile Membrane, ensuring continuous filtration and drainage performance throughout the system. Check that the drainage pipes carry water away from the footings – passively by natural gradient or actively via a sump and pump – and include a jetting access point for flushing and maintenance.

The BIOKIL. Geotextile Membrane is a twin-layered cavity drain membrane combining an 8mm studded HDPE membrane with a nonwoven geotextile layer. Installed on the external face of the structure, it directs water to the land drain and relieves hydrostatic pressure, for retaining walls, podium decks, external tanking and green roofs.
