Limelite Renovating Plaster 25kg – breathable, salt-resistant base coat for damp and heritage walls
Limelite Renovating Plaster is a lightweight, fibre-reinforced renovating plaster that controls and manages moisture movement in traditional and damp buildings. It lets walls breathe so the substrate can dry naturally, making it a fast, effective alternative to traditional lime plasters for re-plastering after a new damp-proof course, flood damage remediation and heritage restoration.
Key features
- Breathable – can be applied directly to damp walls and substrates
- Contains salt inhibitors to help prevent efflorescence and salt transfer
- Lightweight – less than half the weight of a sand and cement plaster
- Rapid drying – 24 hours per coat
- Fibres reduce cracking and crazing
- Suitable for brick, block, stone and wooden lath
- Non-combustible (Euroclass A1)
Typical coverage per 25kg bag
- 10mm – 3m²

Frequently asked questions
How much does a 25kg bag of Limelite Renovating Plaster cover?
About 3m² at 10mm thick, 1.5m² at 20mm and 1m² at 30mm. These figures are approximate and do not allow for site wastage.
How much water do I mix with a 25kg bag?
About 12.5 litres of clean, cool water. Add the powder to the water, mix for 2–3 minutes, rest for 3–5 minutes, then remix, adding a little more water only if needed.
How thick can each coat be, and how long between coats?
Apply in coats of 7–15mm with a horizontal scratch for a key. Allow at least 24 hours between coats. On solid substrates, prime with Limelite Easy Bond first and apply the first coat once the primer is tacky.
Can I finish it with a gypsum plaster?
No. Lime plaster is not compatible with gypsum, so do not use gypsum finishing plaster or gypsum plasterboard. Finish with a skim coat of Limelite High Impact Finishing Plaster.
When can I decorate?
24 hours after applying the Limelite High Impact Finishing Plaster. Use breathable paints, such as mineral or water-based paints. Wallpaper and tiling are not recommended.
