OB1 Multi-Surface Construction Sealant & Adhesive is a professional hybrid-polymer product for bonding, sealing and filling across a wide range of building, repair and installation applications. It cures through atmospheric moisture to form a strong, flexible and durable elastic rubber.

The versatile formula adheres without primer to most non-porous surfaces, including damp materials, and can even be applied underwater. Free from solvents, isocyanates and silicones, OB1 is almost odourless, non-corrosive towards metals and suitable for interior or exterior use.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces must be solid, clean and free from grease, dust and other contamination. OB1 adheres without primer to most non-porous substrates, including many damp surfaces. Always test adhesion and material compatibility on a small area before completing the full application.

The environmental and substrate temperature must be between 5°C and 40°C during application.

Application as an Adhesive

1. Apply the product in a well-ventilated area.
2. Apply the adhesive in vertical stripes with approximately 10–20 cm between each stripe.
3. Do not apply the adhesive in individual dots.
4. Bring the materials together and position them correctly.
5. Use 3 mm double-sided tape where appropriate to support the materials during the first 24 hours and maintain the correct adhesive thickness.

Application as a Sealant

Apply OB1 evenly into the prepared joint, ensuring sufficient contact with both sides of the joint. Tool and smooth the surface before skin formation using a suitable smoothing tool. Remove excess uncured material promptly.

Paintability

OB1 can be painted with water-based paints and most two-component coating systems. Synthetic paints may dry more slowly when applied over the sealant, so compatibility should always be tested before use.

For the best result, allow the sealant to cure for several days before painting. Where required, lightly abrade the cured sealant and adjoining surfaces before applying the chosen paint.

Cleaning and Storage

Clean uncured material from tools using OB1 Multi-Surface Cleaner. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. Store the unopened cartridge in shaded conditions between 5°C and 25°C.

Curing times vary according to temperature, humidity, joint depth and application conditions. Always test adhesion, paint compatibility and suitability before use, particularly on plastics, coated surfaces and sensitive materials.
