Lo-Carbon Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) Unit with Heater – Loft Mounted
Moisture in the air is the root cause of condensation and mould. This loft-mounted Positive Input Ventilation unit continually supplies filtered fresh air into the home through a ceiling diffuser, ideally above the landing, helping to reduce condensation, control mould growth and improve indoor air quality.
Key benefits
- 5-year product guarantee
- Energy efficient – power consumption as low as 2.2 watts
- Built-in preheater raises incoming air temperature by up to 4 degrees
- Adjustable air flow and heater settings for resident comfort
- Near-silent operation with a sound-cancelling, low-profile diffuser
- Helps reduce radon levels where this is a concern (Radon Mode)
- G4 filters supplied as standard; optional F7 filters for finer particles such as diesel emissions near main roads
- Data logging of runtime and approximate energy use
How it works
The unit monitors the loft temperature and adjusts automatically: "Trickle" speed below 18°C, "Energy Recovery" speed between 18°C and 27°C, and standby above 27°C (unless Radon Mode is on). Pre-set speeds are selected by number of bedrooms (1–4) during commissioning. The heater threshold can be adjusted between 5°C and 20°C.
Installation & maintenance
- Installed in the loft, hung from a roof beam (or floor-mounted with the optional mounting base); unit weight approx. 4kg.
- Electrical connection (220–240V AC, via a 3A switched fused spur) must be made by a qualified electrician.
- The diffuser should not be within 1m of a smoke detector – blanking plates are supplied.
- Must be configured to comply with Part F of the Building Regulations.
- Check the filter annually and clean or replace as necessary.
